Randy Reed: Owner of Reed's Marine

Reed's Marine, owned and operated by Randy Reed, opened its doors in the Lake Chelan Valley in the spring of 1990. Right out of high school, Randy turned his summer job of installing boat lifts, a trade he learned from his step-father, into a sales and service operation.

As business at Reed’s grew, Randy added boat and watercraft rentals, and later in 2001, became a Larson Boats dealer. Recently, in 2010 Reed’s Marine has become a Regal Boats dealer, to expand the range of options to the Lake Chelan Valley’s ever expanding boating population.

Darren Perri: Boat Mechanic, Service Work, and Dock Construction

Darren came to Reed's Marine with experience in construction and mechanics, two invaluable tools to work in dock/lift construction and to perform all Reed's servicing needs.

Today Darren has certification from Mercury Marine, has training in the modified computer system now used by Volvo and Mercruiser, and does a tremendous job servicing all our boating customers' needs.

Nathan Carpenter: Boat Sales and Front Office

Nathan came to Reed’s from Sunstream Boat Lifts where he took care of dealers from across the US, providing him with the knowledge and expertise to manage Reed's Boat Lift operation.

He now manages the sales department at Reed's Marine as well, promoting and selling both new and used boats throughout Lake Chelan and Eastern Washington.

Darcy Vey: The Gold and the Glue of Reed's Marine

Darcy, now a summer time only employee, is a vital part of the Reed's Team.

She manages the front desk with a smile and a friendly greeting, answers questions, and assists with all front office duties.

Employee Appreciate Day 2009

Randy Reed, owner of Reed’s Marine held a surprise Employees Appreciation Breakfast for his staff on Wednesday morning in his parking lot.

Complete with fried bacon, scrambled eggs and waffles with blueberries made by Randy to the surprise of his staff. Many locals stopped by just to see what was going on and to see what all the smiling faces were about.

It is not often Heidi gets a call at 8:00 a.m. asking her to cover such a positive and exciting event as a boss making breakfast. "I know each one of Randy’s employees and this event truly warmed my heart to spend time with such a great group of Manson friends. And boy did the food smell yummy on this sunny spring morning in Manson."

GoLakeChelan Article

Owner, Randy Reed shares some thoughts with you our GoLakeChelan readers about Reed’s Marine and his outstanding Team member’s:

“In 08 we were focused on our diversities pulling us through a tough economic year. Recently after getting my year end report from my CPA and seeing our team not only made it through 2008 we also came extremely close to 2007’s numbers, which is incredible considering the economy then verses 08, I had every reason to celebrate the success of my employees!

This is what the Employee Appreciation Breakfast was all about. Celebrating the success not only of Reed’s Marine but the success due to my amazing staff!

For 09 we will continue to focus on our diversities and all of us pulling together to remain efficient by not spending unless it is necessary and running lean and mean. The goal is for Reed’s Marine to pull out another year, strong as ever. We are starting 09 with a larger, more experienced team who extend outstanding customer service to our loyal customers. Our team gives to me the freedom to walk away knowing they will perform all their tasks with out me having to worry whenI am gone on other business tasks.

I strongly believe in a rewards system and never take advantage of the fact that when someone is doing their best to shine that they are rewarded accordingly.”
